I am vegan and have been on and off for 25yrs. Off because of loving a chef who ate all animals. I fought with this for 3 yrs until he wanted to marry, then I said NO as I realized that I wanted to go back vegan and stay vegan. My relationship ended. Happily vegan for 6 yrs now and have a boyfriend who eats animals and refuses veggies. I just told him we can’t move to the next level after he got severely sick from diet choices, he now has heart disease. Is it cruel to say I love you but I am not committed to watching you DIE? – Totally Vegan Buzz

Good on you for sticking up for veganism. You can be cruel to be kind sometimes, but you should always be able to be KIND. I wish that others were as strong and disciplined as you are. But remember: you too were probably nonvegan at one time, so remember what it was like. You would have liked someone to be patient and interested in you as well. So dont break the camel’s back…be nice until such a time as it is impossible to be nice.
