Price said she was ‘numb and shocked’ after her dog Blade died.
Katie Price is receiving severe backlash after a seventh pet died in her care.
The furore comes after Price’s protection dog Blade was killed in a road accident near her Sussex home.
The 45-year-old took to Instagram to announce her latest pet tragedy.
“Words can’t express the lost of my best friend my protector my absolutely everything who had sadly passed away today I have no words to say how I’m feeling but numb and shocked rip Blade,” she wrote.
Online backlash
“No words… oh yes here’s one. Irresponsible!” wrote one user.
“How many more animals are going to die at that house, roaming around the roads to be hit? That’s neglect,” added another.
“Let’s hope the RSPCA, who are already in the middle of an investigation into her, come in and end her animal ownership once and for all,” a third commented.
‘Blood on her hands’
Even vegan charity PETA slammed the former glamour model for her negligence.
Elisa Allen, PETA Vice President of Programmes, said: “After a seventh animal died in her custody, Katie Price should be facing more than the court of public opinion – she should face a court of law and be banned for life from keeping animals.
“PETA urges authorities to look into Blade’s death and reminds the public that it’s not just Price who has blood on her hands. Greedy breeders who keep selling or ‘gifting’ animals to her are also to blame, as they know full well what the likely outcome will be.”
Pet tragedies
Over the past six years, the star has reported the deaths of five dogs, a horse and even her chameleon, Marvin.
According to reports, her pooch Sharon was killed just months before Blade’s mishap while two other dogs were also hit by cars.
Even Price’s horse died after being hit by a vehicle in 2017. Meanwhile, in another bizarre incident, the family’s nanny seemingly sat on a dog that had dozed off under a chair after Price had illegally given it vet prescription-only cannabis oil.
An insider close to Katie told The Sun: “It’s shocking to see the conditions those poor dogs are living in…
“After all that’s happened with Katie’s pets in the past you’d have thought she would be going above and beyond for her dogs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
“She might have renovated her home but the dogs don’t appear to be benefiting from it and still live in squalor.”
Petition
Following Blade’s death, an earlier petition calling for Price to be banned from owning animals was kickstarted back into action.
The petition was launched three years ago and accuses Price of neglecting her pets, leaving animal faeces on the floor to grow mould, and training some of them to attack other animals.
More than 33,610 people have already signed the petition.
Price still has some chihuahuas, who are named Colin, Buddy, Captain and Batman.
