Kardashian created her new vegan minimalist and sustainable range after her skin struggles became the ‘catalyst’ for her journey of skincare.
Kim Kardashian is the latest celebrity to join the vegan skincare bandwagon with her latest venture Skkn by Kim.
Though she is entering a whole new category of the beauty industry, the socialite and business entrepreneur is not new to the beauty game.
In fact, her nine-product lineup comes less than a year after it was announced that KKW Beauty was closing up shop to focus on “new formulas that are more modern, innovative, and packaged in an elevated and new sustainable look.”
The new collection, which includes a cleanser, toner, exfoliator, hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin C serum, face cream, eye cream, oil drops and night oil are all rechargeable, vegan and cruelty-free.
The formulations contain blends that will offer ‘rejuvenation, nourishment, and an indulgent at-home experience’ as well as help people feel confident in their skin.
Moreover, Kardashian’s own skin condition led to the birth of the new brand. She has long suffered psoriasis – an immune-mediated skin condition that affects more than 7.5 million adults in the United States alone and results in dry red patches on face and body.
“What began as a psoriasis diagnosis became the catalyst for my journey of skincare discoveries, inspiring me to learn more about my skin and how to care for it,” the 41-year-old-said.
The line’s innovative formulas have been the tangible result of years of work and learning from dermatologists and estheticians (including famed facialist Joanna Czech).
‘Excited’
“I’m excited to finally introduce to you SKKN BY KIM, a rejuvenating nine-product skincare ritual that I have developed from start to finish,” Kardashian said in an online statement.
“I’ve been so privileged to learn about skin and skin care over the years from the world’s top dermatologists and estheticians, and every bottle from my new line is filled with the knowledge I’ve accumulated along the way.”
Furthermore, each product is packed in sleek refillable packaging in her go-to neutral hues and priced from $43 to $95.
SKKN BY KIM is a collaboration between Kardashian and Coty and is set for release on 21 June via direct-to-consumer channels.
Celebrity vegan skincare
While Kardashian may be launching her first vegan skincare brand, she joins a long list of celebrities already the rocking the market. Her half-sister Kylie Jenner launched Kylie Skin, a vegan make-up range last August.
Other celebrity brands include Rihanna’s Fenty Skin, Jennifer Lopez’s JLo Beauty, Harry Styles Pleasing, Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, Ariana Grande’s r.e.m. beauty and Hailey Bieber’s forthcoming Rhode.
