Beyond Meat has expanded its portfolio in the UK with the launch of three new plant-based chicken-style products.

 The range includes Beyond Burger Chicken-Style, Beyond Fillet, and Beyond Nuggets.

The items add to the existing Beyond Meat fare in the UK, which includes Beyond Burger, Beyond Sausage, Beyond Mince, and Beyond Meatballs.

According to the vegan alternative brand, these chicken-style products are designed to look, cook, and taste like their animal counterparts.

They are made using a combination of wheat gluten and faba bean, a nutrient-packed legume crop, which allows the products to be crispy on the outside with a golden breading, and incredibly tender and juicy on the inside.

The new products, which are suitable for carnivores, flexitarians, vegetarians and vegans alike are not only about taste, they are nutritious as well.

For instance, the plant-based burger packs in a whopping 15 grams of protein per 100g.

Beyond Meat’s plant-based innovation

Beyond Meat, which was established in 2009, first caught the world’s attention in 2016 when it launched the Beyond Burger.

The patty was made from pea protein. Since then, the alt-meat startup has launched several products through rapid and relentless innovation. Currently, the company uses a variety of alternative plant proteins, including peas, brown rice, mung bean, and faba beans.

It also has a large portfolio of meat alternatives including vegan versions of mince, sausages, burgers, and meatballs, all of which are hugely popular among vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians.

The new Beyond Chicken-Style products are available in select Waitrose stores and will be available in select Sainsbury’s branches from early May.
