The company is yet again expanding its award-winning Green Cuisine line.
Frozen food brand Birds Eye has added new breaded fishless fillets to its Green Cuisine range.
The new product launch follows the success of its Battered Fish-less fillets, which were rolled out in 2022.
Birds Eye’s new alt-fish product is made of rice flakes to recreate the texture of flaky fish and is coated in breadcrumbs.
The tasty fillets, which are delectable with tartare sauce, lemon juice or with fries are vegan friendly and loaded with protein and omega-3. According to the brand, the fillets contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
The Breaded Fish-less fillets are now available in Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Ocado in the freezer aisles with a recommended retail price of £3.
‘Brilliant choice’
“The new and improved Breaded Fish-less fillets are a brilliant choice to help Brits stay healthy but still enjoy the staple choice for everyone’s favourite occasion – the Friday night takeaway,” the brand said in a statement.
Green Cuisine range
Birds Eye has an extensive plant-based range available under the Green Cuisine brand. In the UK, it sells burgers, meatballs, sausages, pies, and several chicken alternatives.
The brand’s first alt-fish product, Fishless Fingers achieved a whopping £630,000 in sales in its first year.
The successful launch also helped the brand increase household penetration from 9.1% to 9.8%, and the company continues to add more innovative products to its extensive plant-based portfolio.
