The UK vegan bakery business adds two new vegan products to its line-up
Devon based Clive’s Purely Plants, has expanded its vegan options with two new products.
The vegan bakery brand has released a sausage breakfast roll and a bacon breakfast roll into Waitrose stores across the country.
The Vegan Sausagey Rolls, which come with Red Onion Chutney, are filled with a herb-seasoned plant-based sausage wrapped in puff pastry. The moreish snack can be eaten hot or cold.
Meanwhile, the delicious Tomato & Tofu Quiche with Basil and Cracked Black Pepper, is inspired by the Italian margherita-pizza. It is made with silken tofu and encased in a pastry crust.
‘High-quality organic food’
“We are excited to bring these delicious vegan options to the market and hope that everyone will enjoy them as much as we do!” Clive’s MD Esther Pearson said.
“We have always been committed to producing high-quality organic food, and these new snacking products are no exception. This additional category is a demonstration of the diversity and flexibility that we now have to offer from our bakery in Devon. We are proud to be ‘baking’ new ground once again.”
Clive’s vegan trajectory
The bakery company was established by Clive Lowe in 1986. It was later taken over by Sally and Chris Carson. The vegetarian pie brand went fully vegan in 2020, describing the move as a “logical next step”
In 2021, vegan investment fund Veg Capital acquired controlling interest in Clive’s and announced plans to increase production by 400% and achieve £10 million in sales.
Clive’s has long been a favourite in health food stores and its range, which includes organic pies, quiches, tarts, and nut roasts, are currently sold in major UK supermarkets like Waitrose and Morrisons, as well as independent stores.
