Here are 15 must-try vegan launches that promise to make your Veganuary 2025 both tasty and inspiring!
Greggs – Spicy Vegetable Curry is Back: British bakery chain Greggs is bringing back its fan-favorite Spicy Vegetable Curry. This winter-warmer pastry is packed with peppers, carrots, chickpeas, parsnips, potatoes, broccoli, sweetcorn, and curry sauce. First introduced in the 2023 festive range, it returns nationwide for Veganuary 2025 and will be available from January 2. The pasty costs £2.10 per slice.
Grubby – New Vegan Dishes in Collaboration with BOSH!: Grubby has introduced a new range of vegan meals in partnership with the renowned authors from BOSH! Each package comes with a simple recipe card and all the necessary ingredients to make delicious dishes right in your kitchen. The menu features innovative options like gochujang tofu mac n’ cheese, peanut butter and tenderstem udon soup, and zesty green enchiladas topped with avocado. Throughout 2025, customers will have the opportunity to purchase a new series of 10 meal kits co-branded by Grubby and BOSH!
Tortilla – Beyond Steak Chimichurri Burrito: Tortilla, Europe’s leading fast-casual Mexican restaurant group, has partnered with Beyond Meat to launch an exciting new menu item for Veganuary 2025: the Beyond Steak Chimichurri Burrito. Crafted with Beyond Meat’s award-winning Beyond Steak, the burrito is a vibrant fusion of flavors. Alongside the tender, protein-packed plant-based steak, the dish features a limited-edition chimichurri mayo, Mexican rice, pinto beans, hand-smashed guacamole, sweetcorn salsa, pickled pink onions, jalapeños, and crushed tortilla chips—all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Available at select Tortilla locations across the UK from 2nd January to 6th February 2025.
Wahaca – Updated Vegan Menu: A popular chain known for its Mexican-inspired cuisine, is rolling out a refreshed vegan menu for Veganuary 2025. Highlights include a novel mushroom carnitas tostada, crafted from shredded king oyster and chestnut mushrooms, alongside a beetroot “beef tartare” complemented by avocado cream. The innovative mushroom tostada is priced at £7.50, while the beetroot tartare is available for £6.50.
Wagamama – Firecracker Chick’n Ramen: Wagamama’s Veganuary special includes the new Firecracker Chick’n Ramen, crafted in partnership with vegan blogger Alfie Steiner. This dish includes crispy vegan chicken paired with smoky roasted aubergine and rice noodles in a spicy gochujang broth. It’s topped with sesame-sprouted broccoli, crispy chili oil, spring onions, pickled red chilies, coriander, and a fresh squeeze of lime. It’s a spicy, comforting bowl perfect for cold January days.
Aldi – Expanded Plant-Based Range: Aldi is making Veganuary even more accessible with its expanded plant-based range. The updated lineup features an array of new products from no-chicken pieces and vegetable fritters to vegan breakfast pastries and innovative meat alternatives like no-fish burgers.
THIS – Isn’t Chicken Kyiv and Wings: THIS is turning up the heat with its latest launches: This Isn’t Chicken Kyiv and This Isn’t Chicken Wings. These high-protein options are noted for their “hyper-realistic” quality and are enriched with iron and B12. The chicken wings mimic traditional poultry skin using a seaweed-based coating utilized on THIS’s chicken thighs, which crisps similarly to the real thing. The new Kyiv will be available for £4.95 per 250g starting January 1 at Sainsbury’s. The frozen chicken wings will be released at ASDA on January 6 and at Morrisons on January 13, priced at £3.75 per 210g.
Beyond Meat – Beyond Smash Burger at Tesco: Beyond Meat is bringing its popular Beyond Smash Burger to 520 Tesco stores across the U.K These burgers feature a thinner patty designed for easy “smashing, layering, and stacking.” Each 100g serving delivers 16g of plant-based protein. They retails for £3.25 for two patties.
Lidl – New Plant-Based Foods: Lidl UK, part of the European discount supermarket chain, is significantly investing in plant-based foods with a goal to increase plant-based options to comprise 25 percent of its total protein sales by 2030. The chain began introducing new items such as plant-based burgers, sausages, mince, and nuggets under its Vemondo Plant! brand, setting the stage for a nationwide launch in January.
Tofoo Co. – Seasoned Tofu: U.K.-based plant-based foods company, Tofoo Co., known for its seasoned tofu, tempeh, and seitan has introduced four new tofu products in time for Veganuary. The lineup includes a Stir Fry Block enhanced with soy and ginger, Veggie Balls infused with vegetables and Italian spices, Sweet Chili Cubes in a sticky marinade, and crispy Tofu Dippers. These new products are now available at different retailers: Stir Fry blocks (£2.75 per 280g) at Waitrose, Sweet Chili Cubes (£2.85 per 180g) at Tesco and Asda, Veggie Balls (£3 per 240g) at Sainsbury’s, and Tofoo Dippers (£2.50 per 160g) at Asda.
Squeaky Bean – Tofu Slices: Squeaky Bean, the plant-based brand known for its award-winning NYC Deli Style Slices has launched UK’s first ready-to-eat Tofu Slices just in time for Veganuary. Squeaky Bean Tofu Slices with Spinach & Basil (80g) – a subtle Mediterranean spinach and basil flavour seasoned with black pepper, garlic, rosemary and thyme. And Squeaky Bean Tofu Slices with Red Pepper & Tomato (80g) – a hint of Asian flavours; tomato and red pepper and gently seasoned with black pepper, garlic, oregano, red chilli pepper and paprika. Both are priced at RRP: £2.50 each, and are available in selected Sainsbury’s stores and online from 1st January 2025.
One Planet Pizza – Tex Mex Pizza: One Planet Pizza, a plant-based pizza company, is rolling out a new pizza variant nationwide at Asda this January, introducing a first for the frozen category: a plant-based Tex Mex pizza. This new offering features One Planet Pizza’s signature wood-fired sourdough base, topped with a rich tomato sauce and an innovative, melty plant-based cheese crafted from white beans. The pizza is adorned with marinated vegetables, sweetcorn, and jalapeños, adding a spicy twist. Available in the frozen meat-free section across the Asda estate from January 2025, this new Tex Mex variant joins their existing Peppernomi flavor.
TGI Fridays – Vegan Americana Menu: In January 2025, TGI Fridays™, the original American cocktail bar and restaurant, is celebrating Veganuary with a deliciously meat-free twist. Launching 20 Americana-style dishes across appetizers, mains, and desserts, the menu honors TGI Fridays™ iconic heritage while offering vegan alternatives to its beloved classics. Highlights include Meatless Frank’s® RedHot Strips, plant-based chicken tossed in Frank’s® RedHot sauce; Fridays™ Plant-Based Loaded Potato Skins with Applewood vegan cheese and plant-based bacon; Plant-based nachos, upgradable with succulent plant-based chicken; Meatless Chicken Fajitas topped with guacamole, fresh salsa, and avocado & lime dressing; a Vegan Burger featuring a plant-based patty with Applewood vegan cheese and vegan mayo; and BBQ seasoned chargrilled Corn Ribs. This vegan range, along with a selection of mocktails, will be available throughout January and beyond at all TGI Fridays™ restaurants nationwide.
Ben & Jerry’s – Bohemian Raspberry: Ben & Jerry’s is celebrating Veganuary and the 50th anniversary of the iconic Queen song “Bohemian Rhapsody” by reintroducing its dairy-free Bohemian Raspberry flavor. This special edition not only pays homage to the legendary song but also supports a good cause. Proceeds from the sales of the ice cream will benefit the Mercury Phoenix Trust, an organization dedicated to fighting HIV/AIDS globally, founded in memory of Queen’s lead singer, Freddie Mercury. The dairy-free flavor is available nationwide, priced at £5.75 for a 465ml tub.
Papa Johns x La Vie™ – Hawaiian Vegan Pizza: French vegan food brand La Vie™ is collaborating with Papa Johns to introduce their first-ever Hawaiian Vegan Pizza, providing a plant-based twist on one of the UK’s most debated pizzas. This new offering features savory vegan ham from La Vie™, set on a classic tomato base, topped with juicy pineapple pieces and dairy-free cheese. The Hawaiian Vegan Pizza will be available in Papa Johns stores across the UK starting from January 2nd.
