The new plant-based options will be rolled out at all 260 of Shake Shack’s locations — including Charlotte and Huntersville.
Shake Shack has expanded its existing lineup of vegetarian offerings by debuting a new veggie burger and two new plant-based desserts, a non-dairy chocolate shake and a non-dairy chocolate frozen custard.
The desserts have been created in collaboration with NotCo and its AI program called “Giuseppe”. NotCo also makes plant-based products like NotMilk, NotBurger, and NotChicken.
According to NotCo, the Giuseppe prompts help it analyze “the structure of animal-based food at its molecular level and replicate it using only plant-based ingredients.”
The new veggie burger was “born out of testing many different veggie burger iterations” and features “mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, farro, and quinoa, topped with American cheese, crispy onions, pickles and ShackSauce,” the fast food chain revealed.
Vegan options at Shake Shack
Shake Shack has been steadily increasing its veggies options and has trialled several menu options. In 2021, it released the limited edition Vegan Crispy Shallot Burger in the UK. The burger included a mushroom-based vegan patty topped with smoky vegan cheddar cheese, fried shallots, lettuce and dijonnaise sauce.
In the same year, it partnered with Slutty Vegan to launch a limited-edition vegan burger in Atlanta and New York.
The SluttyShack included a veggie patty topped with secret Slut Dust, lemon ginger kale, caramelized onions, vegan ranch, and vegan mayo and served on Slutty Vegan’s signature toasted Hawaiian bun.
The new plant-based options will be rolled out at all 260 of Shake Shack’s locations — including Charlotte and Huntersville.
