‘Australia is one of the fastest growing plant-based food markets in the world and we want to provide tasty, great value products for as many people as possible.’
Australia’s 7-Eleven has joined the vegan bandwagon with a brand-new vegan range.
The convenience store chain has introduced four new plant-based products, which include the 7-Eleven No Chicken and Lettuce Sandwich, 7-Eleven No Egg and Lettuce Sandwich, 7-Eleven No Beef Pie, and 7-Eleven No Sausage Roll in more than 700 stores nationwide.
The move follows the growing demand for plant-based foods in the country. According to a Euromonitor report, Australia is the third fastest-growing plant-based food market in the world.
The brand mentioned that it had taken great care in developing the products by extensively testing the taste quotients.
7-Eleven Australia’s general marketing manager, Julie Laycock, told Franchise Business: “We didn’t just want to have plant based options, we wanted to make sure they were tasty products in their own right.
“Our team developed these exclusive products with our suppliers, and we’ve done extensive testing with consumers to ensure the new products taste delicious.
More choices
Laycock said the new products offered more choices to consumers looking for plant- based options.
“The convenience of being able to drop into one of our 700+ stores makes it even easier for people looking for vegan friendly and vegetarian food and those who want to mix plant based meals into their diet more often,” she said.
“As Australia is one of the fastest growing plant-based food markets in the world, it’s important to us that we continue to provide tasty, great value products for as many people as possible.”
7-Eleven is already looking to expand its plant-based range and is currently trialing soy milk for coffee in select stores in Victoria along with adding a vegan-friendly falafel wrap and Teriyaki Mushroom Onigiri- a Japanese speciality to the menus in selected stores.
Laycock added, the company was looking forward to receiving customer feedback on their new products. “We encourage customers to try our plant based and vegan friendly products and share their thoughts with us on social media.”
