Hip hop legends the Beastie Boys have released a new vegan sneaker in collaboration with footwear giant Adidas.

The Skateboarding x Beastie Boys Americana vegan sneaker has been launched to mark the 30th anniversary of the group’s iconic album Paul’s Boutique.

Members Adam Horovitz and Mike Diamond collaborated with Adidas designers on the style of the sneaker.

They chose for the shoe to be totally vegan as a tribute to member Adam Yauch – the third Beastie Boy who was a dedicated vegan until he died from cancer in 2012.

A portion of the revenue from sales will be dedicated to PEACE Sisters and Little Kids Rock – both of which empower young women.

The design of the new sneaker includes a vegan canvas upper, cotton jersey liner, gum sole, Adidas’ classic three-striped pattern, and a Beastie Boys logo on the tongue.
