“Now that our Rich Cream is vegan, it’s an added bonus — it is the ultimate sign of respect for nature.”

Iconic skincare care brand Augustinus Bader has just unveiled an upgraded vegan version of its award-winning hero The Rich Cream after ditching animal ingredients from its formulation.

The Rich Cream Upgrade builds on the original 2018 released formula, which was already non-GMO and free of gluten, talc, parabens, formaldehyde, phthalates, mineral oil, and sulfates.

According to a press release, the makers have tweaked the Rich Cream to remove lanolin (derived from wool grease) as well as beeswax and added moisture-binding hyaluronic acid, irritation-soothing hydrolyzed rice protein, and sisymbrium irio seed oil to create a formula that provides “deeper nourishment and hydration and, overall, a more immaculate complexion.”

The upgraded formula will however retain the essence of the original, which includes the Trigger Factor Complex (TFC8) – a proprietary blend of “natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins, and synthesized molecules naturally found in skin” and “proven to reduce the signs of aging including the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.”

‘Ultimate sign of respect for nature’

“We merge a deep respect for nature and biology with knowledge-fueled targeting of skin repair needs,” famed stem-cell scientist and cofounder Augustinus Bader told Allure.

“Now that our Rich Cream is vegan, it’s an added bonus — it is the ultimate sign of respect for nature.”

The efficacy of the vegan 2.0 formulation has been attested with unparalleled clinical and user trials. 30 participants using the new formula for one month experienced a 145% uptick in skin hydration, 92% increase in skin firmness, and between 37% to 54% wrinkle reduction.

Vegan products at Augustinus Bader

The new Rich cream isn’t the only vegan Augustinus Bader product. The brand’s lip balm, face oil, cleansing balm, and body oil are already free of animal products, Allure reports.

The brand is now working on becoming entirely vegan and launching new products later in the year.

Charles Rosier, the company’s co-founder and chief executive officer, said: “Skincare has been steadily growing in the last few years because there is an increase of awareness from people about wellness and taking care of themselves.

“Skincare is maybe more perceived by people as something fundamental as investing in your skin and investing, therefore, in your body and wellness.”

The new Rich Cream is available in different quantities with the 50ml size that is supposed to last for approximately six weeks priced at $265 on the brand’s website.
