The new ice cream flavour created with PM Scott Morrison, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Energy Minister Angus Taylor is part of a campaign that calls for a fossil fuel ban for a more sustainable future in Australia.
Ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s has launched a new limited-edition ‘Un-fudge Our Future’ vegan flavor in Australia to help in the fight against climate change.
The new dairy-free flavour has been created in collaboration with environmental group 350.org Australia as part of a campaign to urge the government to invest in a ‘clean, resilient and fairer Australia’ by banning fossil fuels.
According to the brand, the new ice cream, which features chocolate and peanut butter with fudge brownies & chunks of peanut butter cookie dough was created with PM Scott Morrison, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg and Energy Minister Angus Taylor in mind.

In an online statement, the brand revealed: “Un-fudge our Future isn’t just a tasty new vegan flavour you can’t miss, it’s a climate crisis call-to-action you can’t ignore.
“Ben & Jerry’s is supporting climate leaders 350.org Australia & the inspiring global movement of young people demanding climate action.
“There is no planet B, that’s why we will donate part of the proceeds of each pint to the movement fighting for our future.”
Highlighting the Australian government’s plan to use public funds for ‘big gas projects,’ the brand states in its petition: “The climate crisis is getting worse every single day and despite everything that 2020 has thrown at us we have not forgotten about the horrendous bushfires earlier this year.
“We have already seen the proposal from the Government to pour public money into big gas projects, which would be a disaster for our climate – gas is a fossil fuel, which isn’t going to get us anywhere towards a more resilient and cleaner future.
‘Make fossil fuels history’
With Australia emitting one of the highest per capita carbon dioxide in the world, the brand is calling on the government to transition to 100% renewable energy.
Encouraging people to join the growing movement of demanding climate action, the brand added: “This movement is already building – businesses, scientists, and communities are calling for a cleaner and fairer rebuild in the upcoming budget – but we need those making the decisions hear it from you too!
“When parliament sits next, our leaders will be making big decisions about where to spend the public’s money to reboot the economy. We need to tell them that we want a clean, resilient and fair future and that it’s time to make fossil fuels history.”
The parliament is due to announce the new budget on October 6. To know more about Ben & Jerry’s Unfudge Our Future campaign, click here.
