The new breaded vegan chicken tenders are made out of peas and faba beans. They offer 14 grams of protein per serving, contain no GMOs and 40% less saturated fat than leading foodservice chicken tenders.

Vegan food startup Beyond Meat has finally launched its highly anticipated Beyond Chicken Tenders this week.

The new breaded vegan chicken tenders have been rolled out in nearly 400 restaurants in North America including Dog Haus, Epic Burger, Next Level Burger, Toppers Pizza, Verdine, Melt Bar, Grilled, and Fire Wings among others.

Made out of peas and faba beans, the vegan chicken offers 14 grams of protein per serving. It contains no GMOs and 40% less saturated fat than leading foodservice chicken tenders. They are also free from antibiotics, hormones, and cholesterol.

The brand’s greatest, crispiest innovation has been developed to serve as a substitute for chicken in appetizers, entrées, salads, sandwiches, and more.

‘Better for people and our planet’

“We’re innovating the poultry market with the new Beyond Chicken Tenders—the result of our tireless pursuit for excellence and growth at Beyond Meat,” Beyond Meat’s Chief Innovation Officer Dariush Ajami said.

“As with all our products, Beyond Chicken Tenders offer delicious taste and an exceptional culinary experience, along with strong nutritional benefits.

“Innovation is at the heart of Beyond Meat, and Beyond Chicken Tenders are the latest example of our mission to create groundbreaking, tasty options that are better for people and for our planet.”

Beyond Meat chicken tenders

The launch comes amidst a raging chicken war that’s causing shortages of poultry around the country.

The California-based food tech company hopes this chicken lull will inspire more people to try the plant-based version, which tasted at parity in overall flavour to animal-based chicken tenders in consumer tests.

The National Restaurant Association recently awarded the tenders with its famed Food and Beverage Industry Award.

“Beyond Chicken Tenders are a craveable, crispy, and delicious plant-based product that meat-lovers and veggie-lovers alike will dunk, crunch, and love,” the NRA said in a statement.

“In consumer testing, Beyond Chicken Tenders scored on par in likeability with the leading animal-based chicken tender, making them a must-have menu item that will elevate your menu to compete in the Chicken Wars.”

Beyond Meat portfolio

Beyond Meat has been experiencing impressive growth since it launched its first plant-based offering almost a decade ago.

The latest innovation adds to the brand’s growing portfolio of products designed to emulate beef, meatballs, ground meat, and pork sausage links and patties.

Its expertise and broad consumer awareness have helped establish the company in the forefront of the plant-based protein market domain.

According to Forbes, Beyond Meat’s products are already available in 80 countries in some 62,000 foodservice locations worldwide.
