Select Costco locations across the US are now stocking Beyond Meat’s vegan meatballs.
This is the second Beyond Meat’s product that will be available at the club store after the Beyond Burger was rolled out last September.
The vegan meatballs made from peas and brown rice are non-GMO, soy-free, and gluten-free.
They contain 19 grams of protein per serving and 30% less saturated fat and sodium than traditional Italian-style meatballs.
The meat balls pre-seasoned, pre-rolled and ready to cook, making them perfect for pastas, appetizers, sandwiches, soups and more.
The meat balls retail at $9.99 for 24 meatballs and are packed in a convenient 2-pack with 12 meatballs each.
‘Thrilled’
“We’re thrilled to introduce Beyond Meatballs as they deliver on consumers’ growing demand for delicious and nutritious plant-based meat options without GMOs or synthetic ingredients,” Stuart Kronauge, Chief Marketing Officer at Beyond Meat, said.
“We are proud to introduce our newest innovation at retailers nationwide and know our fans will be excited about the great taste and convenience of Beyond Meatballs.”
According to the club store, the Beyond Meatballs will be available at locations including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Virginia, and more.
Beyond’s retail presence
The roll out in Costco is part of Beyond Meat’s greater retail expansion. The vegan meatballs were first rolled out at Whole Foods, Stop & Shop, Sprouts, Harris Teeter, Kroger, and Albertsons, in September.
Sales of Beyond Meat have surged in recent times, with the brand now available at over 122,000 retail and food service outlets in 80 countries around the world. Around 28,000 retail outlets stock the brand in the US.
