Food-tech company NotCo just launched a new plant-based milk alternative, ‘NotMilk’, at Whole Foods Markets across the US.
The company’s website states that it hopes to “reinvent the food industry” and promises to “take animals out of food production while never, ever compromising on taste.”
The venture, which involves the use of artificial intelligence and a plethora of healthy vegan ingredients, has been backed by multiple investors.
One of the key investors for NotCo is Bezos Expeditions, which manages the personal venture capital investments of billionaire Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.
Artificial intelligence and plant-based milk
NotCo has created an artificial intelligence algorithm called ‘Giuseppe’. This algorithm is used to help decide which ingredients to use in order to create the best-tasting products possible.
Giuseppe has come up with a formula unlike any other plant-based milk on the market, which includes a variety of fruits, vegetables, seeds, and plants, to create their unique milk alternative.
“Pineapple, coconut, cabbage, peas, bamboo, beets, chickpeas, seeds, and much more can replicate the food we love to eat. Madness? Not for Giuseppe,” NotCo’s website states.
NotMilk
Their first product, which is called ‘NotMilk’, and is available in two varieties – 2% reduced fat, and whole.
NotMilk has been created in response to the ever-growing need for more plant-based options and less animal products on the market: “Eating animal products harms our planet. It’s a fact. So our mission is simple: to take animals out of food production while never, ever compromising on taste,” the NotCo website explains.
“We’re not here to start a revolution. This is a revelation. We’re here to change the everyday. For everyone. Everywhere. One delicious affordable mouthful at a time.
“We call all food lovers and the food industry alike… Let’s do this together to help our planet. Do ask why. And repeat after us, Why Not.”
