Burger King on The Mall site in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol will offer only vegan food starting from 26th October to 9th November 2022.
Following the immensely successful trial of its Leicester Square vegan takeover earlier this year, Burger King is now ditching meat at one of its Bristol branches.
Burger King on The Mall site in Cribbs Causeway, Bristol will offer only vegan food starting from 26th October to 9th November 2022.
The move is part of the fast-food giant’s commitment to becoming 50% meat-free by 2030 in a bid to cut carbon emissions.
Adding to the hype, the outlet will sell the new plant-Based Bakon King with vegan cheese and bacon for the first time ever.
Burger King will in total have 24 vegan menu items including favourites such as the Vegan Cheeeze Royale, Vegan Nuggets, Vegan Chilli Cheeeze Bites and Ben & Jerry’s Cookie on Cookie Dough Non-Dairy Ice Cream.
“We’re incredibly proud of our meat-free menu; it delivers big taste with no compromises and reflects our ongoing commitment to serving a diverse and innovative range of products,” Katie Evans, a spokesperson from Burger King UK, said.
“Following the success of the Leicester Square takeover in London, we are looking forward to bringing this range of delicious meat-free menu items to our customers in Bristol.”
Burger King’s plant-based trajectory
In recent years, Burger King has been leaning heavily into the plant-based movement and has been actively promoting the notion that plant-based meat is quickly becoming the new norm.
To date, the international chain has rolled out plant-based burgers in 70 countries. It’s ultimate goal is to have plant-based options on restaurant menus all over the world.
“Adapting to customer preferences is a key focus at Burger King,” Burger King UK chief executive, Alasdair Murdoch said in a statement.
“We are committed to helping our guests make good decisions about what they eat and drink and providing them with informed choices.”
To celebrate the takeover, Burger King will also be giving away 100 tasty Vegan Royales absolutely free on 26 October.
The offer will be limited to one per customer. Visit the chain’s website for further information.
