Two UK enterprising siblings have finalized a massive investment deal with Spanish food group Dasca to expand their vegan snack brand.

Malaysian siblings and Newcastle University graduates Gregory and Gracia Goh launched Cheeky P’s for healthy, vegan, gluten-free nibbles in 2018.

Inspired by popular Malaysian street food Kacang Kuda, the brand currently sells healthy roasted chickpeas in BBQ, Black Pepper, and Curry flavours.

Close to the company’s second anniversary,  Cheeky P’s has secured a significant investment deal with Spanish food group Dacsa and a number of angel investors.

Dasca is a leading dry corn milling company and rice producer with nine production plants in six different locations across Europe.

The investment will help Cheeky P’s introduce new products, grow its team and expand to more international markets.

“This investment will not only allow us to create new products, but with Dacsa on board we will have support beyond the financial investment to help accelerate growth to the next level,” said Cheeky P’s co-founder Gregory Goh.

“We can really focus on building our brand and expanding our product range to support the increasing appetite for healthier plant-based snacks. It is a rapidly growing market, to which our innovative products are ideally suited, and I am very excited about what the future holds for Cheeky P’s.”

The Newcastle based startup already has distribution deals with health stores, convenience stores, farm shops and pubs around the UK, and their products are being stocked at Ocado and the CenterParcs holiday villages as well.

Helping them clinch the deal was Muckle’s corporate lawyer Amy Wanless, who added: “Gregory and Gracia have built a brilliant business with huge growth potential and we were delighted to help. We were able to spend time getting to know the business and its goals to support them with some key strategic decisions in the build up to the deal.

“Given just how tasty these healthy snacks are, I am sure the investments together with industry leading support from Dacsa, will be a tremendous catalyst for growth and we’re excited to see the Cheeky P’s brand in even more shops and outlets in the near future.”

With veganism on the rise, a number of snack brands are launching exclusive vegan munchies and nibbles.

Earlier this month, Snoop Dogg partnered and invested in vegan snack brand Outstanding Foods, that recently unveiled vegan pork rinds-animal-free alternatives to classic pig skins.
