This week, Chewits – UK’s number one chew treats brand has expanded its range with the launch of four new products.
While the flavours of Juicy Bites and Xtreme Sour Bites are suitable for vegetarians, the brand has also released two vegan friendly treats.
With its new range of bonbons, the 1965 launched brand, which is renowned for its chewy texture and range of great fruity, tangy and sour tasting bonbons is looking to capitalise on this £7m worth sector.
The vegan suitable Xtreme Sour Apple Laces and Chewits’ Fruity Twists, while retaining the brand’s world famous chewy texture in its favourite, quality flavours are made with no hydrogenated fats or artificial flavours.
They are priced at £1 and have been packed in 200g resealable hanging pouches.
‘Broaden our appeal’
“We are over the moon to bring these new products to market,” Sarah McDermott, brand manager at Cloetta UK said at the launch of the new products.
“This is our first innovation for many years and we feel these new sharing product formats from Chewits will add some excitement and innovation to these confectionery categories.
With a strong heritage in the confectionery industry, Chewits has been the number one chew stick in the UK for many years.
“Now we feel the time is right to broaden our appeal, by expanding into new category segments and offering more products with our popular chewy texture and great range of fruity flavours.”
The products will be available at all convenience stores across the UK with supermarkets looking to stock it by next year.
The brand has also planned a slew of ‘space-themed’ national marketing campaigns featuring the brand’s mascot, Chewie the Chewitsauraus, who will introduce new taste adventures through social media and PR.
