Veganuary 2022 has officially kicked off and once again, big brands are endorsing the movement in the new year.
The 31-day challenge to go vegan for January has attracted the likes of several food-chains including Subway, Papa John’s, and Starbucks all of which have spruced up their menus with tantalizing vegan options.
Joining the milieu are Costa and Caffè Nero. Both coffee chains have announced an array of plant-based treats to help through the month and beyond.
UK high street coffee chain Costa has added Macaroni Cheeze and Vegan BBQ Chick’n Panini, as well as various sweet treats to its menu.
Meanwhile, Caffè Nero has tied up with plant-based meat brand THIS to launch its Veganuary menu across all UK outlets.

Costa’s new menu offerings include the mac and cheese featuring vegan cheese sauce, fresh spinach, and a parsley crumb topping.
The Vegan BBQ Chick’n Panini features vegan chicken, BBQ sauce, vegan cheese, roasted peppers, and fresh spinach in a sourdough panini.
For dessert, the chain has added a new Chocolate & Pecan Slice made in partnership with popular vegan recipe channel BOSH!
This vegan slice of chocolatey heaven is made with a tiffin base, dark chocolate, and biscuit pieces and topped with caramel, dark chocolate and pecan pieces.
This is the second time the two have collaborated following the addition of their Ultimate Chocolate Slice last year.
A vegan Apple Crumble Flapjack and a vegan dark chocolate protein bar are also part of the range.
A Costa Coffee spokesperson told FEMAIL: “This January we want to spoil our customers, giving them the ultimate feel-good start to the year. What better way to do that than to create the most wonderful limited-edition food menu to enjoy!”
Costa Coffee already has several snacking vegan options on its menu. Last year it unveiled The Vegan Bac’n Breakfast Bap made with Finnebrogue‘s Naked Bacon Without The Oink! and vegan spread.
Caffè Nero Veganuary menu
This Veganuary, premium coffee house Caffè Nero has partnered with plant-based pioneer THIS for two new offerings. It includes an arrabbiata panini with THIS Isn’t Chicken pieces, ragu sauce, red chilli purée and spinach all in a sourdough panini. Meanwhile the vegan sausage ciabatta features mushroom and pea protein THIS Isn’t Pork Mini Sausages in a ciabatta roll.
Vegan dark chocolate and almond butter brownie are also part of the new range.
The two businesses first partnered for a Vegan Festive Feast Panini launched last November across 700 UK locations. It comes complete with stuffing, cranberry and port sauce, and fresh spinach.
Marcus Denison-Smith is the Marketing Director at Caffè Nero. He told FEMAIL: “We have been transforming our food offer over recent years to elevate the food experience in our coffee shops and offer more variety with better quality ingredients for a range of evolving customer requirements.
“Our Vegan menu has been a core focus of that, with rapidly growing sales of Vegan products in the last 12 months as we have expanded the range.
“Our partnership with THIS will excite our customers and continue our food transformation journey.”
THIS co-founder Andy Shovel added: “Caffè Nero is a legendary high street brand, and we’re very, very excited about our partnership. I particularly love how simple and effortless these products are.
“The Caffè Nero team has taken meaty classics and subbed out the meat for THIS™. Given our mission of recruiting millions of meat lovers – these new menu options are bang on.”
