Actor Danielle Fishel has launched a new vegan hair care line named Be Free.
Danielle Fishel -the sassy Topanga Lawrence of the 90s sitcom “Boy Meets World,” that held the world in awe with her long voluminous tresses is back, only this time she is here to launch her collection of hair products loaded with ingredients that are natural, gentle, effective and free of harmful effects.
All her ‘Be Free’ hair care products are vegan and cruelty-free and devoid of harsh chemicals like sulfates, sodium chloride, phosphates, gluten, parabens, phthalates, and artificial fragrance.
“You will never have to question our ingredients or our intentions,” states the brand on its website.
Launching this week, Be Free will sell three hair products online. While the shampoo and conditioner are priced at $19 each, a serum called Scalp Refresh is priced at $30.
The color-safe shampoo is made using a combination of natural multifarious ingredients such as argan oil, chamomile, hops, and even garlic.
And the conditioner has coconut oil, eggplant, maracuja oil, and black pepper seed oil to tend to damaged hair, fight frizz, reduce inflammation, and stimulate circulation.
“The products are super-lightweight but still great at taming frizz,” said Fishel in an interview with Allure.
“I actually even like my hair air-dried, and I never have before.”
Healthy choices
Fishel has launched her products after a 20 year hiatus, and she clarifies the reason in the interview: “I have been approached many times since I was a kid about doing something in the hair or beauty space, but it was never something that interested me because there wasn’t an organic reason for the collaboration.
“This line came from the purest place possible. The day I heard my son’s heartbeat during our eight-week ultrasound, I realized that every decision I make now affects someone other than myself, and I wanted to be as healthy as possible with my choices while also refusing to sacrifice the efficacy of the products I use.”
Speaking on what she expects with the launch of her new products and why she recommends using Be Free, Fishel said: “What I’m hoping happens with the line is that, without having to use a bunch of harmful chemicals, you’re going to be able to improve your hair.
“For me, it’s made it easier for blow-drying. It’s sleeker, I don’t have to pull as tight and I don’t have to use as many styling products.”
“I think what people love about ‘Topanga hair’ is volume, shine, and the appearance of it being effortless,” she added.
“In that regard, yes, you can absolutely expect to get closer to Topanga hair (with Be Free)!”
