‘It takes vision to look beyond the now and the familiar but success demands that of us every day’
Dragons’ Den’s star Deborah Meaden and PETA have teamed up to run a new competition in a bid to help struggling dairy farmers.
The competition is open to all UK dairy farmers looking to transition to growing crops for non-dairy milks.
Meaden will provide the winner with a 15-minute one-on-one business consultation via Zoom on how to get started.
‘Vision to look beyond the now’
The successful businesswoman wrote on Twitter: “It takes vision to look beyond the now and the familiar but success demands that of us every day.

Competition
According to PETA, all the interested applicants need to do is email PETA with the subject line “Ready to Try Plant-Based” and state why they want to switch to growing crops for dairy-free milks along with their personal details and their current situation.
A winner will be selected based on their ‘motivation and enthusiasm for making the transition from dairy farming to growing plants’.
Apart from a free business consultation, applicants also stand a chance to win a half-day professional consultation on their farm with agriculture experts from Tolhurst Organic on successfully making the transition from dairy farming to growing organic vegetables or arable crops.
The competition is on until 10 August 2020 and the winner will be announced on 14 August 2020.
