The chain has added a third plant-based milk alternative to “continue the brand’s commitment to bringing guests more non-dairy options and innovative menu items that democratize delicious.”

Fast-food chain Dunkin’ is adding coconut milk to its menu at more than 9,000 locations nationwide.

The latest dairy-free milk option will launch on 28 April.

It will be the chain’s third dairy alternative after it added oat milk last August. It has been offering almond milk since 2014.

According to Dunkin’, the “introduction of coconut milk continues the brand’s commitment to bringing guests more non-dairy options for customizing their favorite coffee, espresso, specialty, and tea-based beverages, and innovative menu items that democratize delicious.”

Dunkin’ will offer coconut milk as a dairy substitute in any drink and as part of Dunkin’s Iced Coconutmilk Latte.

In addition, the chain is launching three colourful summer-ready Dunkin’ Coconut Refreshers in pink strawberry, golden peach, and blueberry pomegranate flavours.

To promote the new refreshers, Dunkin’ is offering the medium-sized drinks at a discounted rate price of $3 until 25 May.

 “The start of the summer season is the perfect time to expand our menu with coconut milk, another exciting non-dairy choice for our guests,” Jill Nelson, Vice President of Marketing & Culinary at Dunkin’, said.

 “From our colorful Dunkin’ Coconut Refreshers to our creamy Coconutmilk Iced Latte, Dunkin’ is crafting the coolest coconut milk beverages to keep our guests refreshed and running, throughout summer and all year-long.”

Plant-based options at Dunkin’

Apart from new dairy-free options, the restaurant chain has been steadily expanding its plant-based options. 

Dunkin’ was the first US restaurant to offer Beyond Breakfast Sausage in 2019 and now has the meatless sandwich available at more than 9000 locations across the US.

This January, it launched the new Southwest Veggie Power Breakfast Sandwich adding another plant-based breakfast sandwich to its menu.

Earlier this month, the fast-food chain added 41 vegan donut flavors to its menu in the Netherlands and Belgium.

The flavours include pistachio, cinnamon swirls, peanut butter and jelly, double stuffed strawberry, mango passion, and more.
