‘We’re delighted to be in a position to offer our customers a range of stylish Vegan bags’
Asda’s own-brand fashion range-George has just launched a new summer collection of handbags, which is 100% vegan.
The range includes a variety of styles and colours, including a pale pink ring detail bag, a burgundy mini mock croc cross body bag and a mock croc black bag with prices starting from just £10 offering great value for the price.
All the bags in the range are accredited by the Vegan Society, which means there is full accountability of no animal-derived products being included in any form. The products can be traced back through the supply chain, not just to the factory it was sourced from but also to all of the suppliers who make the dyes and the glues used on the bags.
Helena Boal the Buying Manager for Accessories at George commenting on the decision to launch vegan bags said that increased demand for vegan options in the accessories market space was the team’s main driving factor and it was happy to provide a stylish selection to its conscious shoppers.
“As a team we’re delighted to be in a position to offer our customers a range of stylish Vegan bags, whilst still being able to offer the same great value as the rest of our products,” she said in a statement.
‘A first for George’
Jas Kaur, Technical Manager for Accessories at George, said: “I’m very excited about our new collection of Ladies’ bags registered by The Vegan Society and I can’t wait to hear what our customers think of them!
“It’s a first for George and I’m delighted that 100% of our ladies’ bags range will be vegan, with no animal-derived products in the making. It’s something we think will appeal to lots of consumers – not only vegans and vegetarians but to people who want to buy vegan bags for cultural reasons.”
The Vegan Society’s Director of Business Development, Chantelle Adkins added: “These fantastic bags have been registered with The Vegan Society’s Vegan Trademark.
“It’s great to see George investing in this area which will appeal to a lot of consumers. We’re proud to have teamed up with George on this range and can assure customers that all these products are free from animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals.”
