‘I don’t eat meat,’ said the former One Direction squad member in a recent interview.
In an interview with NPR after performing for the network’s Tiny Desk Concert series, Styles answered some of host Stephen Thompson’s questions.
While the interview was about their mutual love for Green Bay Packers- Wisconsin’s NFL team, Styles shed some light on his dietary preferences.
Having visited Green Bay Packers’ home stadium—Lambeau Field, Styles recalled the stadium served large curved sausages called horse collars.
When Thomson asked: “Did you have a horse collar?”
Styles replied: “I did not. I don’t eat meat.
“So yeah. No horse collar for me.”
Styles continued that the stadium doesn’t have a veggie alternative.
“There’s no veggie horse collar (in Wisconsin), which is a shame. But it’s probably coming.”
Animal Supporter
Although Styles admitted he’s fond of cheese, which means he’s not a vegan, the singer is fond of animals and stands up for them as well.
In a 2015 San Diego concert, Styles called out Sea World for its exploitation of marine mammals. During the act, he asked his fans: “Do you like dolphins?”
When the crowd affirmed enthusiastically, Styles said: “Don’t go to Sea World”.
His stance was applauded by PETA, who not only praised the 26-year-old heartthrob, but also sent him t-shirts from their anti- SeaWorld campaign.
In another instance, Reuters sports correspondent Rory Carroll shared how the singer offered to look after Carroll’s pet by stepping in as a good Samaritan.
In a Twitter thread that encouraged people to tweet their “most awkward or interesting celebrity interaction,” Carroll tweeted: “I was outside a restaurant in Hollywood trying to pick up my take out order but couldn’t go in because I was with my puppy.
“Harry Styles saw my predicament, tapped me on the shoulder and said he could watch Oscar while I went in.
“What a guy.”
