“As more and more of the country is tucking into flexitarian, vegetarian, plant-based and vegan meals, we wanted to make sure you can still enjoy the same great taste of Heinz you know and love, in new plant-based recipes.”
With Veganuary 2021- the month-long pledge to adopt a vegan lifestyle – touted to witness its biggest year yet, Heinz has unveiled a new ‘Plant Pantry’ range of vegan Heinz varieties for the growing vegan community in the UK.
The new range, which features six vegan products will join the brand’s already sizeable plant-based range which includes favourites like Heinz Beanz and Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
Heinz Plant Pantry
First up is Heinz Vegan Salad Cream, which the brand boasts to have that ‘same deliciously zingy taste we all know and love’. The salad cream priced at £2.89 for a 400ml bottle is available to buy at Tesco.
The next product is a vegan version of Heinz iconic Good Mayonnaise. You can get your hands on a 400ml top-down bottle in Tesco for £2.89 (RRP).
The brand has also added two more plant-based flavours, which include smoky chilli, and garlic aioli, to its mayo range.
The two flavoured mayo bottles are priced at £1.99(RRP) for a 20ml squeezy each, and will be available from Heinz to Home from mid-January, and nationwide from February.
The American condiment company is also unveiling a delicious new range of Beanz Burgerz, which will be stocked in Ocado from 14 January before being rolled out to more retailers later in the year. At £3 a pack, three flavours are being launched, with two out of three being vegan; Original and Texan.
‘Make plant-based meals more accessible’
In a statement sent to Totally Vegan Buzz, María Pérez de Ayala, Heinz sauces brand manager, said: “Here at Heinz, we have long believed in the power of plants, and many of the Heinz varieties you know and love are already vegan.
“As more and more of the country is tucking into flexitarian, vegetarian, plant-based and vegan meals, and as we kick off Veganuary 2021, we wanted to make sure you can still enjoy the same great taste of Heinz you know and love, in new plant-based recipes.
“Which is why we are today launching our six new vegan varieties, as we continue our mission to make plant-based meals more accessible for all. These future-classics now sit alongside our Heinz Beanz and Heinz Tomato Ketchup in our ‘Heinz Plant Pantry’ – a plant-based line-up that will continue to grow over the coming years.”
‘Very excited’
Zoe West from Veganuary said they are very excited with Heinz’s new vegan range.
“Heinz Beanz is one of our staples! So when we heard about all these amazing new plant-based products from Heinz, we got very excited.”
West added: “There’s a general misperception that being vegan means you have to work hard to find fancy, niche products, but actually we just want the same comfort foods as everyone else.
“That’s why we’re delighted that Heinz is helping people live more lightly on the earth while eating the food they love. We’re sure the great taste of this new Heinz range will help everyone make a tasty success of Veganuary!”
