Actor Jack Black has pledged to stop eating red meat to “help limit catastrophic climate change and support my mental health.”
Jurassic Park actor Jack Black has pledged to stop eating meat as part of the My Eco Resolution initiative.
In a video, the comedian revealed, “My eco resolution is to stop eating red meat. I’m going to still eat a cheeseburger, but it’s going to be one of those new scientifically delicious veggie burgers. You know, the Impossible, the Beyond.
“I’m doing this to help limit catastrophic climate change and to support my mental health.”
Urging people to act for the climate, he posed a question, “What pledge will you take for our planet?”

His question attracted several responses on Twitter.
“You are a gem Jack Black. We are starting meatless Monday’s,” tweeted one user.
“That’s great! Already vegan, reducing single use plastic even more, more local foods, saving for electric car,” wrote another.
Eco Resolution
Eco Resolution was founded by model Cara Delevingne and Advaya in 2019 with a mission to empower people globally to take action in the face of the growing climate and ecological crises.
“The climate and ecological crisis is the greatest threat we’ve ever faced, and the future of life on our planet is at stake,” says founder Delevingne in a statement.
“We need to reinvent so much of how we live in the 21st century. This can feel hugely overwhelming – it’s easy to feel powerless, and too small to make a difference.
“Yet if we can step up, rather than shut down, there is an exciting invitation before us. To ignite individual initiative – to lead true change, not just buying better reusable coffee cups.”
This isn’t the first time Black has expressed his desire to alter his dietary choices for the planet.
In an earlier WIRED Autocomplete Interview show, Black appearing alongside his ‘Jumanji: The Next Level’ co-star and rapper Awkwafina said: “I am [vegan] in spirit and, really, it’s time for everyone to consider that lifestyle.”
