‘Now more than ever is important to continue to support British farmers and producers and offer food that tastes good, does good and is kind to the planet’

The ‘naturally fast food’ restaurant chain LEON has launched a new plant-based menu to celebrate British summer produce and the power of plants.

The new menu, which will be available in all its outlets across the UK include wholesome meals for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.

New plant-powered menu

For breakfast, the restaurant is excited to introduce its vegan breakfast muffin, because in Leon’s words: “Eating plants is good for us and good for the planet, Why not start at breakfast?”

The new “grilled Mushroom & Cheeze Muffin layers freshly grilled mushroom, LEON-made vegan cheeze sauce, rocket and ketchup on a lightly toasted sourdough English muffin.”

The vegan Grilled Mushroom & Cheeze Muffin is priced at £3.95.

If you fancy a proper meal, the restaurant offers the Paleo Plant Box with grilled aubergine priced at £5.95. The meal features roasted seasonal British broccoli, celeriac, cauliflower and red onion dressed in zhoug – a bright, herby Middle Eastern and topped with grilled aubergine and sumac onions to make it a delicious low-carb vegan meal.

You can also go raw with ‘the best of the season’s bounty’ by opting for the new Summer Slaw (£1.50) made with julienned carrots and radish, fresh peas and ribbons of celeriac and cabbage in a light dressing.

Or, if you’d rather have a mid-afternoon snack, the restaurant has your back with its Pecan, Maple and Oat Cookie, which is described as a ‘posh hobnob’ in the restaurant’s description.

Team the ‘poshnob’ with LEON’s new plant-powered Chocolate and Banana Vegan Protein Shake made from a powerful blend of banana, dates, cacao, hemp and organic vanilla protein powder for a sweet, tasty, healthy and a filling combination.

‘Power of plants’

“This new menu launch is a celebration of the power of plants and British seasonal produce, with some very exciting new dishes, that pack a punch when it comes to flavour,” commented LEON’s head of food, Erica Molyneaux.

“Now more than ever is important to continue to support British farmers and producers and offer food that tastes good, does good and is kind to the planet.”
