Linda McCartney has announced new vegan dishes and the return of a plant-based favourite in this year’s Christmas offer.
The meat-free brand has brought back the Vegetarian Roast following success in recent years. The dish is ‘a turkey-style roast made with rehydrated soya protein, lentils, sultana puree and pumpkin seeds, finished with a spiced brambly apple and pomegranate glaze’.
And the brand has developed some new dishes since last year. The first dish to debut on the Christmas menu is the soya-based Vegetarian Red Onion & Rosemary Stuffing Ball.
A statement on the website reads: “These ridiculously tasty seasoned Vegetarian Stuffing Balls are made with soy protein, and are jam-packed with red onions and rosemary.
“Serve alongside the Linda McCartney’s Vegetarian Roast for a fantastic accompaniment.
The second dish is Vegetarian Turkey and Cranberry Plait.
The brand explains: “The new dish has an enticing turkey-flavour and is filled with butternut, spinach, and cranberry with soy and wheat protein; wrapped in puff pastry plait.”
Managing Director Nadine Maggi said: “Being meat-free at Christmas can be tricky and it’s important for us to provide delicious options for our customers that exceed their expectations.”
The vegan roast priced at £5 and the stuffing balls priced at £2.75 will be exclusively available on Tesco aisles. Whereas the Vegetarian Turkey and Cranberry Plait. will be sold exclusively at Sainsbury’s for £2.
Other supermarkets and food retailers that have announced their vegan Christmas range include Marks & Spencer, Waitrose’s, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Aldi among others.
