The British iconic plant-based brand is set to release its first ever lineup of four milk alternatives with the hope of becoming a ‘household favourite’.
Linda McCartney Foods is launching its first ever plant-based milk range in the UK as demand for dairy alternatives soar.
According to The Grocer, the leading vegan and vegetarian food brand owned by American food giant Hain Celestial will be releasing four new milk alternatives on 12 May.
The range, which marks a ‘new phase’ for the brand comprisesOrganic Rice, Organic Soya as well as Organic style Barista Oat and Coconut variants.
The alt-milk options are sugar free and contain no more than six ingredients. The products will be available in one litre recyclable cartons and will retail at £1.99 each.
The Barista Style range will first hit Tesco shelves on 12 May and all four products will be on sale in Sainsbury’s from 28 June.
‘Pioneering innovation’
“We recognise the need for versatility and variety, and we feel confident that our new range of plant-based drinks offers something for everyone’s usage needs,” Managing Director Nadine Maggi said.
She added: “[Linda McCartney was] particularly looking forward to helping people with choice and we hope to become a household favourite.
“With the brand celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, it feels like the perfect moment for such a pioneering innovation.”
The Linda McCartney range has grown tremendously since its launch in 1991. Several new vegan and veggie products including vegan cocktail sausages, vegan chorizo sausages, vegan beef roast, and vegan-friendly fish goujons are just some of the options released by the company over the last couple of years.
The McCartneys
Although the McCartneys sold the food brand to the Hain Celestial Group in 2006, the family has been championing sustainable foods for a long time.
In 2019, Paul and his daughters Stella and Mary launched the Meat Free Monday campaign.
The initiative aims to raise awareness and encourage people to have at least one plant-based day a week in order to help slow climate change, conserve precious natural resources and improve their health.
The McCarnety family is also launching Linda McCartney’s Family Kitchen – a vegan cookbook – in June this year.
According to them, the book, which features more than 90 plant-based recipes will help ‘save the planet and nourish the soul’.
