Millie Brown is the latest actor to join the beauty bandwagon with her own cosmetic line, Florence by Mills, following the likes of Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner, Ciara and Hailey Bieber.
She states that she wants to have a brand that “represents individuality”. She unveiled the brand through a promotional video on Instagram featuring young models trying on various products from the cosmetic range including lip glosses, cream blushes, cooling eye gels, and face masks.
Her cosmetic range is PETA-certified, vegan and cruelty-free. Brown states that she’s been wearing make-up since she was 10, 11 years old and none of them really catered to skin as young as hers.
“I wanted it to be vegan, clean, cruelty-free that would be easy to get and fun to use and still useful, but, you know, playing that sophisticated teenager as well” informs the teen star in the Instavideo clearly aimed at marketing the brand to the Gen Z.
“Every young person deserves to have a good start with their skin.”
Brown has named the line after her great-grandmother Florence as she believes the lady represents the essence of her brand. “I felt like a brand about individuality and bravery and being truthful should be named after somebody who was all of those things,” she told WWD.
The products are priced in the range of $10 to $34, and will be sold direct to consumer on the Florence by Mills website, as well as Ulta Beauty and Boots.
An unspecified proportion of the profits will go to the Olivia Hope Foundation, a children’s cancer charity, named for Brown’s late friend Olivia Hope LoRusso.
