Following the skyrocketing demand for plant-based products, OGGS is releasing four new vegan snack bars.

Oggs has announced that it is releasing a range of vegan snack bars in response to ‘growing demand for plant-based convenience snacks’.

The range, which includes a quartet of vegan Brownie, Flapjack, Millionaire and Tiffin bars, joins the company’s existing vegan-friendly cakes.

The latest treats are made using the brand’s patented vegan liquid egg alternative aquafaba instead of dairy.

According to Oggs, the ready-to-pour liquid egg alternative, which is made from chickpea water, produces 75% less CO2 than eggs.

‘Plant-based alternatives to everyday foods’

Oggs’ website reads: “Our mission is to give you plant-based alternatives to everyday foods, that taste as delicious as you’ve always known them, whilst doing our best to positively change the future of the planet, animals and people with every, little, bite.”

The snack bars will be available in WHSmiths travel stores from September for an RRP of £1.65 each.

Growing vegan snacks market

With the popularity of vegan and vegetarian diets increasing, companies and businesses around the world are rushing to meet the growing demand for plant-based foods and snacks.

This week NBA legend Scottie Pippen launched a ‘health forward’ vegan popcorn brand called Husk after teaming up with chef R.C. Mills.

The popcorn is available in six flavours including moringa, yacon and turmeric, kale and broccoli, spirulina and dragon fruit, matcha and coconut water, and cayenne and ginger.

The range is available at speciality retailers on the West Coast and online at Amazon and HUSKorganics.com.

Last month, PROPER Snacks – maker of PROPERCORN AND PROPERCHIPS- launched a vegan popcorn bar range to offer ‘alternatives that deliver on both health and taste’.

The snacks come in two sweet flavours:  Salted Caramel and Hazelnut Praline. They are now available on PROPER’s webshop and in Boots stores across the UK with RRP £1.59 for a single-serve bar.
