“Cut your carbon footprint 73% by switching to a plant-based diet.”

‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Paul Wesley, who often uses his platform to speak out against factory farming has urged his Twitter followers to ‘go vegan in 2021.’

In a recent post, he wrote: “Factory farming is, in my opinion, one of the most important issues of our time. If not the most important

“The unimaginable suffering imposed on living beings, the cause of numerous diseases/ pandemics, and the greatest contributor to climate change.”

He concluded the post, urging his 4.1 million followers to “Join me and go vegan in 2021.”

‘Cut your carbon footprint 73%’

When wildfires raged across Australia, the 38-year-old, tweeted: “Heartbreaking to think of the billion animals that were killed so far in the Aus wildfires.

“Shockingly, that’s the same number of animals killed every 96 hrs due to humanity’s insatiable appetite for meat products. Cut your Carbon Footprint 73% by switching to a plant-based diet.”

‘Treated as nothing more than dispensable objects’

As a passionate animal lover, the actor in an earlier tweet wrote: “It always astounds me when people love their own dogs or cats as if they are humans yet treat other animals as if they are nothing more than dispensable objects.”

To further his anti-factory farming cause, Wesley has teamed up with Greenring – a collective of different professionals passionate about making it easy and engaging to be philanthropic – to raise money for Farm Sanctuary.
