PETA has urged McDonald’s to bring its McVegan burger in the UK in new petition.
Vegan charity PETAUK wants the fast food giant to introduce its meaty vegan burger across its 1,270 branches in the country.

The burger already enjoys a huge fan following in Sweden and Finland after the chain sold 150,000 of its McVegan burgers in one month.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B3FXYN_nblq/PETA also pointed out that other chains are ringing in profits with new plant-based launches. Greggs’- the nation’s largest bakery chain recorded a 58% increase in profits with its vegan sausage roll.
In a statement, PETA Director of Vegan Corporate Projects, Dawn Carr, said: “More people than ever are seeking vegan foods – and while its fries, Spicy Veggie Wrap, and apple pies are already suitable for vegans, McDonald’s means burgers, and adding the McVegan would deliver the full package.
“PETA is calling on McDonald’s to serve up the sensational meaty vegan burger and spare millions of gentle cows the horrors of the abattoir.”

An Inclusive McDonald’s menu
Addressing McDonald’s CEO, Paul Pomroy, PETA wrote: “We urge you to meet the booming demand for plant-based foods by adding a meaty vegan burger to the menu at McDonald’s.
“The McVegan would help make the McDonald’s menu more inclusive and appealing to the growing number of vegans, vegetarians, and flexitarians who are choosing plant-based foods to help protect the environment, their health, and animals. Everyone wins!”
Earlier this year, a similar petition to McDonald’s launched by Kathy Freston attracted more than 160,000 people urging the restaurant chain to launch a meatless burger in the US.
