“I got into it because it’s the most ecologically conscious choice you can make as a consumer.”
Movie star Anya Taylor-Joy has revealed the health benefits she has experienced while following a vegan diet.
Many fans chiefly know the former model and actress for her role as Beth in The Queen’s Gambit.
However, she has starred in The Witch, Morgan, the Barack Obama biopic Barry, New Mutants, and Split. She has also appeared in Peaky Blinders and The Miniaturist.
‘Healthiest with so much energy’
In a recent interview, the British-Argentine actress, who has been a vegetarian since she was eight, said she follows a vegan diet whenever she can because following the lifestyle in her fast-paced work life is quite challenging.
Despite her on-off vegan diet, she told Harper’s Bazaar that she has felt the healthiest and most energetic when following the animal-free diet.
“I’ve been a vegetarian since I was eight, so I don’t touch meat or fish,” she said.
“I was vegan for a long time. I got into it because it’s the most ecologically conscious choice you can make as a consumer.
“When I was a vegan it was the healthiest I’ve ever felt, because I had so much energy.”
‘Earth is the only thing we have’
The actress also shared her views on living an eco-friendly lifestyle.
“I think it’s important in a commercial world to be as environmentally conscious as you possibly can be, because at the end of the day the earth is the only thing we have,” she told the UK Fashion & Beauty media outlet.
“So if we’re not taking care of our home, you’re not going to have a home anymore.”
