Summer is just around the corner and, thankfully, long gone are the days when vegans had to settle for a bun stuffed with lettuce on sunny BBQ days.

To keep up with an exploding market, UK supermarket Sainsbury’s is launching a new selection of plant-based burgers and snacks.

New products from vegan and vegetarian brand Eden are set to hit the shelves as summer gets under way.

From May 15 this year, Sainsbury’s will stock the vegan Succulently Sweet Garden Vegetable Burger, Beautifully Bare Beetroot & Kale Burger with kidney beans, Seductively Spicy Curried Cauliflower Burger and vegan sausages made with soy and wheat protein.

Irish company Eden also offers plant-based snack food to keep you going while the burgers are cooking, offering bite-sized versions of burgers.

“We have created a range of delicious products to help fellow foodies enjoy natural, green choices that are good for you, your loved ones and the planet,” Eded said in a statement on its website.

“We steam our products rather than frying them to lock in all the goodness that comes from natural, wholesome ingredients.

“Our vegetarian and vegan products are not just good for you, they’re better for our planet too.

“We are proud to say that all of our products are lovingly made on our own fair isle.”

The company describes itself as ‘sustainable’ and claims to use natural, healthy ingredients.
