Major supermarkets have been forced to recall a long list of products which are advertised as vegan, but have been discovered to contain milk.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) reported numerous products which cause a potential danger to the health of people with lactose intolerance or allergies.
The news will also anger vegans, who avoid any items which contain animal products.
Morrisons, Lidl, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s have all been forced to apologise after the FSA found milk in supposedly dairy-free items, listed below.
Morrisons
At Morrisons some of the Chinese Takeaway Chicken Curry and Sweet & Sour Chicken, Chinese Takeaway Chicken in Black Bean Sauce and Sweet & Sour Chicken were recalled.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said: “Morrisons is recalling its Chinese Takeaway Chicken Curry & Sweet & Sour Chicken and Chinese Takeaway Chicken in Black Bean Sauce & Sweet & Sour Chicken products because they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label.
“This means the products are a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”

Waitrose
At Waitrose, certain products from ‘healthy snack bar’ company Graze were recalled.
The FSA said: “Graze is recalling Sea Salt & Vinegar Veg Crunchers because it has been incorrectly labelled as suitable for vegans, however the product contains milk.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”
The recall affects Graze Sea Salt & Vinegar Veg Crunchers in pack sizes of 26g,
Batch codes 426938, 426559, 427156 with best before dates June 20, June 28 and July 2 2019 were affected.

Sainsbury’s
Sainsbury’s was forced to recall some of its Mango Sorbet products.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said: “Sainsbury’s is recalling Mango Sorbet because it contains traces of milk which is not mentioned on the label.
“This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”
The recall affects 500ml packs with a best before date of November 2019.
Sainsbury’s said: “It has been brought to our attention that the above product may contain traces of milk.
