“Our Crispy Shallot Burger is a new, plant-based twist, on some of our Shack classics … We can’t wait for you to try it.”

Shake Shack has launched a vegan cheeseburger for a limited time in its outlets in the UK.

The international chain has veganized one of its classics to create  the Vegan Crispy Shallot Burger.

According to Shake Shack, the new vegan burger features a housemade mushroom-based vegan patty topped with smoky vegan cheddar cheese, marinated fried shallots, lettuce, Dijonaise sauce, and served on a potato bun.

The custom vegan patty was developed by UK chef Neil Rankin and Jim Frisch, Shake Shack Director of Culinary and Product Development.

One-of-a-kind vegan burger

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this delicious burger to our Shack fans and vegan friends,” said Frisch.

“Working with Chef Neil Rankin, we developed a one-of-a-kind vegan patty that delivers on everything we love about a great burger—decadent, juicy, satisfying, and packed full of umami flavour.

It’s currently available on Deliveroo for the following Shacks: Brent Cross, Canary Wharf, Cardiff, Covent Garden, Lakeside, Mansion House, Stratford, Tottenham Court Road, and Victoria!

The newest item follows the chain introducing its first-ever Vegan ShackBurger for a limited time last September.

The burger featured a patty made from real vegetables, grains, and herbs, including kale, quinoa, and sweet potatoes, topped with vegan cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and vegan ShackSauce on a toasted bun.

Vegan Shake Shack options in the US

While Shake Shack has yet to add a vegan burger to its permanent menu in the US, it did collaborate with vegan entrepreneur Pinky Cole to roll out a limited-offer vegan burger earlier this month.

The SluttyShack burger was part of Shake Shack’s “Now Serving” series – a collaboration that aims to promote local chefs around the country.

It featured a Shake Shack veggie patty, topped with Pinky’s secret Slut Dust, lemon ginger kale, caramelized onions, vegan ranch, and vegan mayo all assembled on Slutty Vegan’s signature toasted Hawaiian bun.

The international chain also trialled a Veggie Shack featuring a patty made with greens, grains, and herbs, which came topped with avocado, roasted tomato, shredded lettuce, and non-vegan lemon mayonnaise—for a limited time in select Shake Shack outlets last year.
