Popular milkshake brand Shaken Udder has launched coconut-based drinks in strawberry and chocolate flavours as popularity for dairy-free alternatives soar.
Popular UK milkshake brand Shaken Udder has entered the alt-dairy market with the launch of its sister brand Shaken Other offering plant-based drinks.
The brand’s move whilst aiming to target the nation’s 25 million flexitarians, also aligns with the growing popularity of the plant-based market.
According to the brand’s co-founder, Andy Howie, the name “Shaken Other” came from the challenge that “Udder” is so strongly associated with milk that it didn’t fit and so Shaken Other was born.
The Shaken Other drinks made with ethically sourced coconut milk come in chocolate and strawberry flavors and are fortified with calcium, vitamin D and iodine. They are gluten free and contain no artificial flavours, colours, and preservatives.
The drinks priced £1.60 are packed in 330 ml recyclable bottles and have less than 200 calories (60kcals per 100ml). The cap and label are also fully recyclable.
Exciting dairy alternatives
“We want to reassure our loyal consumers of our commitment to flavor whilst also being clear that this is a milk alternative,” said Howie.
“We believe that dairy-free drinks shouldn’t compromise on taste or choice.
“Our exciting range of dairy-free drinks deliver uncompromising taste for anyone who can’t drink dairy, chooses not to, or just fancies a change.”
The plant-based drinks are available at Tesco and online at Shakenudder.com.
