“With our new additions, we now have one of the biggest and tastiest plant-based menus on the high street, to offer you even more choice.”
Sandwich chain Subway has announced new additions to its vegan menu just in time for Veganuary.
The fast-food chain has launched the vegan T.L.C. (Tastes Like Chicken) Sub and Vegan Double Choc Cookie, both of which are available to order in Subway stores nationwide from today.
The newest items join the fast-food chain’s award-winning Meatless Meatball Marinara, the Vegan Sub, Vegan Toasted Bite, and Hash Browns, plus a number of Subway sauces, which are vegan, including Garlic Aioli, Sriracha Hot Chilli, and Sweet Onion.
The Meatless Marinara made from plant-based non-meatballs, signature marinara sauce, and topped with melted vegan cheese scooped PETA’s 2020 award for Best Vegan Sandwich.
According to Subway, the plant-based T.L.C. Sub is made from soy-based protein and is the result of over 10 years of development.
The bespoke recipe is apparently perfected to mimic the taste and texture of Subway’s roast chicken breast strips, which means both plant and meat-lovers should give it a try.
The vegan T.L.C. is fully customisable and can be ordered as a 6-inch or Footlong Sub, a salad as well as a wrap. You can even opt to can opt to add slices of vegan cheese to your order too.
Vegan cookies
Cookie lovers are also in for a treat with Subway’s first vegan offering.
The delicious Vegan Double Choc Cookie has been designed to replicate the flavour of Subway’s original Double Chocolate Cookie and can be ordered as a single cookie, as part of a pack of three or the 12 cookie sharing box.
“Our new plant-based T.L.C. Sub will delight both our vegan and non-vegan fans – we’ve created a product that tastes so much like our flavour-full chicken breast strips, guests will be surprised it’s not the real thing,” Angelina Gosal, Head of Marketing UK & Ireland at Subway said.
“With our new additions, we now have one of the biggest and tastiest plant-based menus on the high street, to offer you even more choice.”
Customers can place their order in-store, use Mobile Order collection via the Subway app, or order via delivery services including Just Eat, Uber Eats, and Deliveroo.
