Terre à Terre: The vegan fine dining restaurant proving you don’t need meat for the perfect meal

Terre à Terre: The vegan fine dining restaurant

The iconic venue of Terre à Terre in Brighton, UK, is the perfect example of vegan fine dining which could turn even the staunchest of meat eaters into a raging plant-lover.

As veganism takes the fast-food world by storm, it’s worth reminding ourselves that we don’t need an Imposter Whopper to enjoy a truly indulgent plant-based meal.

This restaurant is yet more evidence that veganism is not about abstinence, but more about embracing the natural plant world and exploring its endless potential.

Located in the winding seafront Laines, the cosy restaurant warmly welcomes you in by both its authentic charm and outstanding service.

Succulent starters

A plant feast inspired by all corners of the globe awaits. To start, Terre à Terre has perfected the art of light and hearty Bao Buns.

The fluffy buns are served with fluorescent miso dip boasting a subtle yet distinctive twang, which combines delightfully with a selection of pickled vegetables and dense, meaty tofu.

Presentation across the board is so beautiful you barely want to tuck in, if not for the enticing aroma.

For vegans who love a junk-food kick, the KFC Cauliflower is right up your street. The naughty treat is doused in a chinese soy and sesame sauce and topped with kale and spring onion for a satisfying crunch.

Magnificent mains

On to the mains, and the Aubergine Tahini Stack is a beautifully crafted combo of decadence and lightness.

The cashew-topped pesto cream paste to accompany the stack is bursting with flavour, and arrives with a light summer salad with pea foam and a crispy cracker.

An alternative and equally inspired option features a side dish of curried dahl with genius simplicity – using crunchy lentils and cutting spices which fire up, but do not overpower, the main attraction of a crispy potato ball with indian spices.

The sphere sits on an intense, generous mango base, beside a thoroughly marinated tofu block topped with seeds.

Liquid dessert

If you haven’t driven yourself crazy with the bold, rich flavours by this point, desserts are a must. The liquid Chocolate Orange Martini left me with a new belief that, from now on, every pudding should be a cocktail and every cocktail should be a pudding.

Plant Pride

Terre à Terre is the perfect place to show off vegan fine dining to anyone who thinks plant-based food lacks variety and artistry.

Vegan options at restaurants have exploded at an incredible rate in recent times, but Terre à Terre has been doing this for many years.

As vegan fast food becomes more and more popular and plant-based junk food becomes the rage, Terre à Terre has stuck to its guns and continued to serve its vibrant, unique dishes which have made it such a raging success in Brighton.
