‘The new warehouse is huge and will allow us to process so many more orders’
E-commerce business TheVeganKind has just relocated into a facility eleven times bigger than its previous location after sales boomed during the pandemic.

Apart from being spacious, the new headquarters reportedly houses the biggest fridge in the world dedicated solely to stocking up to 100,000 chilled goods at any time.
COVID-19 led growth
What started as a subscription box service before branching into an online supermarket by Scott and Karris McCulloch in 2013, the business has grown exponentially with the McCullochs finding themselves having to upgrade for the second time in just two years.
In addition, the growing business has also led to the creation of 21 new jobs including 8 full time and 8 part-time warehouse contracts, 3 additional customer service staff, a Creative Content Designer and a Financial Director position.
“Like most companies around the UK, there was no way we could have predicted the impact that Covid-19 was going to have on our business. But fortunately for us, it’s allowed us to grow much quicker than we ever thought possible,” Scott McCulloch said.
Shifting from a 3,000sqft warehouse to the new Glasgow base, Scott added: “We didn’t plan on moving warehouse again so quickly after our last move, but after forecasting the festive period, we quickly realised that the business couldn’t have coped with any more increased demand in its current premises.
“The new warehouse is huge and will allow us to process so many more orders. We don’t plan on moving now for the next five years at least – but never say never!”
The company has shipped over 70,000 orders to plant-based consumers across the UK since March and are forecasting an annual turnover of almost £6,000,000.
New opportunities
Apart from the expansion drive, the company has also launched a brand-new vegan recipe site in collaboration with popular vegan chef Gaz Oakley.
“It’s been all hands on deck and the entire team have been working tirelessly to pack orders, move sites, and launch our new recipe site, all whilst prioritising the health and safety restrictions brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic,” Scott shared.
Commenting on the recipe site, he said: “We are so excited to launch our new recipe site! Plant-based cuisine definitely makes you more adventurous in the kitchen. Rather than being limited in any way, you are actually exposed to a whole host of foods and tastes you may otherwise have not discovered. Cooking becomes so exciting!
The business is in mood to slow down with the team planning a new investment round, a brand refresh and launch of its own range of vegan ready meal range in the next 12-24 months.
