All sorts of plant-based foods and products will be up for sale at this summer’s Vegan Farmers’ Market in Vancouver.

Vancouver is gearing to launch the city’s first Vegan Farmers Market on 27 June at Vancouver’s Concord Community Park.

The event will operate right through summer for eight full Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The idea is the brainchild of organisers Bridget Burns and Savannah-Rae Furfaro, the founders of Vancouver’s Vegan Night Market and one-day Vancouver Vegan Festival.

The organizers had to tweak the night market format in light of the coronavirus pandemic and social distancing rules, which prohibit large gatherings and therefore opted for a day market and a venue that allowed more space to practice social distancing after consulting local health authorities.

“(We wanted to make sure we) comply with BC health regulations while supporting small businesses and keeping the vegan scene in Vancouver alive, ” organizer Savannah told Narcity.

The market will feature all local produce, food trucks, artisans, and vegan food vendors including Vancouver’s popular Rolling Cashew.
