Grocery king Kroger has partnered with plant-based startup JUST and will stock JUST Vegan Eggs in more than 2,000 stores across the US, reports CNN.
Josh Tetrick- the Co-Founder and CEO of JUST, calls the launch with Kroger, ‘a big deal’.
Some Kroger stores already display the mung bean based bottled vegan egg, but the start-up’s innovation will be on shelves across locations, which include Ralphs and Fred Meyer.
JUST’s vegan egg is already stocked in selected Whole Foods stores in the US and the company has worked out distribution deals in China, South East Asia, and across Europe as well.
Last month, fast-food chain – Tim Hortons added Just EGG to their breakfast menu as they announced trialing the product at selected stores in Canada.
“The consumer demand for 100 percent plant-based proteins is strong and continues to grow. Canada is one of the most requested markets for JUST and we’re excited to be able to offer our product at select Tim Hortons locations for this market test.” said Andrew Noyes, a spokesperson for JUST.
