The Manchester location will be the brand’s fifth restaurant in the UK.

Popular vegan kebab chain, What the Pitta, has announced the opening of its fifth eatery in Manchester.

The venue will be its fifth, with the 3 spots in London:  Shoreditch, Camden, and Croydon and one in Brighton.

According to the owners Cem Yildiz and Rojdan Gul, the new site in Manchester will be the ‘biggest site yet’ with accommodation for over 80-100 diners.

The new restaurant is set to open its doors on 8th January.

The chain, which serves up plant-based versions of traditional döner kebab dishes, including wraps, was recently named the UK’s number one kebab at the British Takeaway Awards.

The restaurant also offers vegan gyros, falafel,  Mixed Mezze and a Lamacun –a Turkish inspired pizza – as well as desserts such as baklava and vegan ice-cream.

‘Huge step forward’

Commenting on the latest restaurant expansion, co-founder Cem Yildiz, said: “Manchester feels like a huge step forward for What The Pitta.

“The site will be our biggest brick and mortar site yet, and to finally open during what we hope is the tail end of this pandemic fills us with optimism for the future. Not just us, but hospitality as a whole.

“Manchester is my favourite city outside of London, with such an incredible food scene. We can’t wait to be a part of that and hope the city welcomes us with open arms ready for their vegan kebabs.”
