“It’s insane the myths about the Vegan diet. I am just getting better each week. I only care about performance. I need to be at an Elite level.”

Ryback also known as the Big Man has credited a plant-based diet for his ‘shredded physique’ after going vegan for seven weeks.

The retired wrestler took to social media to show off the results of his new diet and prove yet again that meats are not necessary for a muscular physique.

Sharing a gym selfie, which displayed his eight pack, Ryback tweeted to his 1.4 million followers: “7 weeks Vegan and bodyweight is 292 lbs.”

He added in the caption: “I just keep seeing improvements and energy increasing even more.

“Conditioning is at a very high-level cardio wise and don’t have any intentions of eating animal or dairy products.

“Lab work completed yesterday, so will see where we are at.”

‘Better and stronger’

The athlete revealed that although he was an avid meat eater, the switch was not too difficult for him since his diet also included a lot of veggies.

“I already ate a lot of vegetables, my main thing was that I never really looked at how I could replace or cut down on animal protein,” Ryback told Give Me Sport.

“All I had to do was switch out my meats, I was already halfway vegan without knowing it!”

“I look better and I’m stronger than I’ve been,” he added.

Elite level performance

The “300 pound vegan” has forayed into the world of fitness by launching his own line of ‘Feed Me More’ premium vegan supplements.

To highlight his own brand and promote the vegan lifestyle, he also recently shared a small clip of him weight training at the gym.

He captioned it: “Top set on leg press today 1,080 Lbs. Bumped my @FMMNutrition 10 Count Creatine to 10 Grams pre workout and strength keeps climbing.

Vegan Wrestlers

Ryback joins a slew of wrestlers, who have ditched animal protein and are still on the top of their game.

Wrestler Daniel Bryan along with his wife Brie are vegans. Pete Dunne is another wrestler who follows a vegan lifestyle. Killer Kowalski, Lita, Maryse, Zelina Vega and Trent Seven are also vegans.
