Wu-Tang Clan member RZA has launched a vegan wallet made from banana leaf under the 36 Chambers brand.
Eight of the Clan’s members are vegan, and RZA co-founded the cruelty free brand in 2016.
The new limited edition wallets are approved by PETA as being fully vegan and they come in passport and fold-style wallets.
RZA and Mustafa Shaikh founded the company, and by 2017 the brand had ensured it had no leather in any products.
Activist
RZA is an outspoken animal rights activist, and in 2014 he featured in a PETA campaign.
“I’m quite sure animals do not wanna be on my plate,” he said.
“When you eat them you’re eating that stress, eating that sickness, eating that fear.”
36 Chambers
36 Chambers defines itself as a lifestyle company which specializes in music, fashion and art.
“With these three principles, we seek artists and products that are on the forefront of culture, consciousness, and creativity,” the company explains on its website.
“Drawing from diverse sources of inspiration from around the world and infusing them with hip-hop street culture, we strive to present a mix of products and experiences that are sure to fit in today’s marketplace.”
The company says it chooses not to use animal leather or by-products across the range for ‘ethical reasons’
