Pizza Hut is continuing to expand its vegan offering with a new product likely to divide opinion – the pineapple-topped Pizza Colada.
The new pizza features the controversial fruit topping on a flatbread base, combined with bbq jackfruit, tomato sauce, peppers, red onion, sweetcorn and rocket.
Pizza Hut says the new pizza offers ‘massive flavour’ and is a lighter vegan option at just 460 calories.
The pizza sets customers back £9.29 and will be rolled out at the pizza chain’s 253 stores along with its extensive vegan offer.
Plant based pizzas on the menu start at a basic Margherita using Violife cheese.
Other pizza options at the restaurants include the Vegan Virtuous Veg with cheese, spinach, mixed peppers, red onions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and rocket.
Another plant-packed offer is the Vegan Veggie pizza with cheese, spinach, sweetcorn, mixed peppers, red onions and mushrooms.
For spice lovers Pizza Hut offers the Vegan Hot ‘N’ Spicy Veg with cheese, peppers, jalapenos, red onions, flame roasted peppers, onions and seasonings.
Finally there’s the Vegan BBQ Jack ‘n’ Ch**se pizza which features sweetcorn, red onions, peppers, BBQ jackfruit and a BBQ drizzle.
To accompany the plant-based pizzas Pizza Hut offers Jack ‘N’ Rolls’ rolls filled with sweet chilli, BBQ jackfruit and vegan cheese, and there’s even icing-covered cinnamon bites for a vegan dessert.
