You can now get vegan Mr Whippy ice cream at IKEA

Share

IKEA has launched its Mr. Whippy-style vegan soft serve ice cream in Edinburgh.

IKEA store at Straiton recently installed a vegan ice cream vending machine, which will dispense plant-based strawberry ice cream for just 50p.

The ice cream is mainly strawberry puree mixed with extracts of white grape, beetroot and lemon juice.

People are excited with the new launch, with customers describing it as ‘delicious’ and a ‘creamier version of a sorbet’.

Vegan IKEA

IKEA has introduced several vegan specialties after moving into the vegan market in 2015.

Last year, it launched plant-based hot dogs made from kale, lentils, carrots, quinoa, and potatoes in its Malmö store in Sweden

Earlier this month, IKEA announced the launch of its VÄXT Burger, which includes a vegan bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and egg-free mayo with an optional serving of dairy-free cheese in its Coquitlam store in Vancouver.
