Baxters just launched its first vegan tinned soup range

Food giant Baxters has launched 3 vegan soup flavours to cater to the growing demand for plant-based foods.

UK’s number one premium soup brand has forayed into the vegan market with its new range of tinned vegan soups.

The soups available in this Plant Based range include: Jackfruit, Three Bean & Chipotle; Sri Lankan Sweet Potato; and Butternut Squash & Lentil Dhansak.

After two years of development, Baxter’s development chef Darren Sivewright and team finally came up with plant-based recipes that matched Baxters other products in quality and taste.

 “Creating a Plant Based range is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. As a chef, I love playing around with different ingredients, especially those you wouldn’t expect to see in a tinned soup, so I enjoyed the challenge of coming up with new flavours that were also suitable for a vegan diet,” said Sivewright.

“My inspiration for the Plant Based range came from popular recipes from around the world. Introducing fresh and wholesome ingredients like jackfruit and butternut squash allows the soup to be both nutritious and filling – the perfect combo for any meal.”

Announcing the launch on Instagram, the group wrote: “The Baxters range is growing.

“Say hello to our new ? Plant-based soups, available in three incredible flavours that have to be tasted to be believed, and providing up to three of your five a day!”

Priced from £1.55, the range is now available at all Tesco stores nationwide with further listings to follow later in the year.

‘New and innovative’

According to the brand, the new range is targeted at anyone looking to include more plant-based foods into their diet as part of an “ongoing commitment to ensure there is a convenient and delicious choice for all customers.”

Lorraine Rothwell, European Marketing Director at Baxters Food Group, said: “At Baxters, we’ve always championed new and innovative products. From being the first brand to introduce twist – off jar lids for our preserves in the 60’s to developing the first ever vegetarian specific tinned soup range in the 80’s, innovation is at our core. So, we’re excited to launch our first ever Plant Based range to the market.

“Creating this range is something we’ve been working on for a while. Not only did we want something that was vegan friendly, but we wanted to showcase our commitment to introducing new and exciting recipes that also provide plenty of flavour and nutrients.”
