Naked and bloody protesters demand end to Canada Goose fur range

Share

Naked and ‘bloody’ protesters laid on coats in front of Canada Goose’s flagship London store in a protest against the use of fur.

In the demonstration, which marks World Wildlife Day (3 March), PETA supporters laid on the store’s coats holding signs claiming ‘Canada Goose Kills’, while one protester’s leg was caught in a giant fake steel trap.

“Trapped coyotes endure a prolonged, painful death, all so that the fur on their backs can be torn off and sold as trim for Canada Goose’s cruelly produced coats,” PETA Director Elisa Allen said.

“PETA is calling on kind people to reject cruelty to animals by refusing to give a single penny to Canada Goose.”

Animal rights group PETA’s  told Totally Vegan Buzz in a statement that its motto reads ‘animals are not ours to wear’ and the company rejects speciesism – which it labels ‘a supremacist view of the world’.

Coyotes caught in bone-crushing traps can endure horrific injuries and languish for days before eventually dying of dehydration, starvation, or blood loss, the group explained.

Some are so desperate to escape that they attempt to chew through their own limbs.

PETA also claimed that birds used for the down stuffed into Canada Goose’s outerwear may spend their lives inside crowded, filthy sheds until their throats are slit.

Totally Vegan Buzz has contacted Canada Goose for comment.
